The Western Pleasure is a third generation cattle ranch that has been operating on the same land since 1940. The ranch is located in Idaho's scenic Panhandle region, about 16 miles northeast of Sandpoint, Idaho. Roley and Janice Schoonover, and her parents, ranchers Jim and Virginia Wood, have transformed this historic ranch into one of Idaho's quality guest ranches. Hosts Roley and Janice share their love for their family ranch along with the rich history, beauty and traditions of the area.
The Western Pleasure Guest Ranch in Sandpoint offers delightful sleigh rides for groups or couples during the winter and trail rides for all, during the summer. Some activities require that you be a guest at the ranch to participate.

When the grounds of the Western Pleasure Ranch are transformed by a blanket of white, let their "gentle giants" treat you to a horse-drawn sleigh ride. The sleighrides can be enjoyed as a group or treasured as a romantic rendezvous for two. At the conclusion of your adventure, head in to the lodge and enjoy a hot drink and popcorn next to a crackling fire.
With a wide variety of horse-drawn sleighs, including a five passenger, ten passenger and two twelve passengers, there is the right combination to accommodate your group. Rides are scheduled Monday - Saturday on the hour 11:00 to 6:00 and on Sundays 2:00 to 6:00. (No rides on December 24th and 25th)
$75 min. on all sleigh ride reservations as these are private sleigh rides.

Saddle up for some good ol' fashioned fun as you ride along the ridges and valleys of this third-generation cattle ranch. Your hosts have proudly maintained and preserved their ranchland in the beautiful, timbered Selkrirk and Cabinet Mountains. Ride through grazing cattle or sneak a peek at a deer, bear, and other wildlife in their native surroundings. Watch a Red-tailed Hawk soar overhead and listen to the song of the birds welcoming you to a new day. From two hour trips to two day trips you're sure to find fond memories to last a lifetime. Whether you are a novice or more experienced we have a horse and riding program that is right for you.
