Fed by the Clark Fork and drained by the Pend Oreille River, the lake, with the surrounding national forests, is a place of beauty and a landmark in a farming, lumbering, and mining region. A popular summer destination, Pend Oreille is located in the quaint town of Sandpoint. With over 100 miles of shoreline that are mostly undeveloped, Pend Oreille's deep blue waters attract a myriad of waterfowl and wildlife. In addition to its stunning beauty, fishing, waterskiing, sailing, windsurfing are all popular sports on the lake.

"Lake is very beautiful, other than a few very shallow spots in south east end we enjoyed the lake with our boat. The lake is large enough that you never get into trouble having too much traffic to worry about while enjoying the lake with our family."
