I was disappointed there wasn't more wildlife. I had hoped for a wolf sighting and spent a couple hours in the Lamar valley with no luck. I didn't expect to see any bears since I have been to yellowstone 6 or 7 times and have NEVER seen a bear. But then I stay on or near the roads and don't hike in the back country. It was nice to compare the burns to what I saw in 1988 at the end of the fires.

We did the entire loop in one day, 178 miles, and saw the major sites. The only one we missed was the Lower Falls because for some reason I did not see the signage as I came through the Canyon Junction. I saw a lady at the upper falls intently looking at a map and she showed up later at Tower Falls some time after we had arrived. I assume that she had to "dig" for the information also. Probably just me and being in a hurry.

Comments:
Yellowstone has thermal activity unlike anything else on the planet, and everyone should try to see it once. Signage and rangers were quite helpful. You really do see wildlife! All the burnt trees are sad and do impact the scenery, but overall we loved it.
