Combo - Main Salmon & Middle Fork
. Description | Pricing | Photos | Reviews
Both the Main Salmon and the Middle Fork offer different experiences. For those who find it difficult to pick which one is right for them, we offer the best of both worlds in a combination trip. Running the Middle Fork and Main Salmon is a rare opportunity to run one of the longest undammed stretches of river in the United States. You'll float nearly 200 miles and descend 4,000 feet from a high mountain stream to a powerful western river. As the river grows, each bend offers an ever-changing vista from high-mountain alpine scenery to big-wooded canyons and everything in between. The Middle Fork and Main Salmon run through the River of No Return Wilderness; at 2.2 million acres, the largest wilderness area in the contiguous United States

Main Salmon River
. Description | Pricing | Photos | Reviews
They don't call it the "River of No Return" without cause. This National Wild and Scenic River once proved daunting for all. Neither the Shoshone Indians nor the Lewis and Clark Expedition could descend the Main Salmon. It claimed the lives of explorers and prospectors. Yet today, thousands of modern adventurers return with tales of thrilling adventure The Main is big western water at its best: It's so wide that we can choose between a wild ride down one side or a more conservative line on the other Moose, black bear, bighorn sheep, and golden eagle are often spotted in the canyon. You'll also see the occasional jet boat that supplies the historical ranches along the river with mail, food, and other necessities The Main Salmon is simply awesome, whether you're in the midst of a rapid or sitting in camp staring up at one of the deepest canyons in North America.

Middle Fork of the Salmon River
. Description | Pricing | Photos | Reviews
Near the Sawtooth Mountains of Central Idaho, Marsh Creek and Bear Valley Creek come together to form the Middle Fork of the Salmon River. At this point, the river is small but challenging nevertheless. It's clear why this river was one of the first to be designated a National Wild and Scenic River. Granite gorges and sheer cliffs alternate with rolling sage-covered hills sprinkled with natural hot springs Crystal clear waters support a blue-ribbon fishery of native west slope cutthroat trout. In addition to viewing wild game, you'll see evidence of the few people who dared to call this untamed area home, such as the Sheepeater Indians and a few hardy gold miners and hermits You'll travel through the Impassable Canyon, where the rugged terrain means the only way out is through the rapids. Big drops flanked by rock walls climax a week to remember.
