Cascade is nestled in the majestic mountains of central Idaho approximately 75 miles north of Boise on Highway 55. Located in Long Valley between the North Fork of the Payette River (know for its world-class kayaking) and Cascade Lake (one of the top fisheries in Idaho), Cascade offers year-round outdoor sports and recreation for everyone.
Popular for all types of boating, prevailing winds on the lake make it especially well suited for sailing and windsurfing. Perch, rainbow trout and coho salmon can be caught at Cascade Lake from shore or by boat in the summer or through the ice in winter. With 92 lakes and 169 streams within a 50 mile radius of town, Cascade offers a wide variety of fishing opportunities.
For winter sports enthusiast, the Cascade area offers 800 miles of groomed snowmobile trails as well as 27 km of Nordic ski trails. Brundage Mountain Ski Resort is located 35 miles north of Cascade and offers excellent Alpine Skiing.
